Ann Curry
Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has been covering wars and natural disasters for nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of those in these areas. Curry has reported on wars all over the globe, including Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist, television news reporter and anchor who was most well-known for her role as a correspondent for the Today program, which was a morning news program aired by the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was known for her work on reporting humanitarian crises in war-torn countries and on natural catastrophes. Curry was born in Japan, and educated by an Japanese mom. Her father served as an U.S. Navy sailor. Her father met her mother in Japan when he was a stationed there after World War II. Because of her father's military duty, the family travelled often. Curry finished her high schooling within Ashland Oregon. Curry graduated in 1978 with an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Oregon. She was exposed to a variety of cultures and experiences during her upbringing likely influenced her empathetic way of communicating on issues of international significance. They frequently moved around, and Curry did not remain in the same school for over two years traveling to various areas such as San Diego Alameda Oregon and Virginia. Ashland was the location where Curry received her degree. In the role of an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon she began her career in the field of broadcasting. She was the first female news reporter for the station at aged 22. Then she was promoted to anchoring and reporting at KGW which is an affiliate of NBC located in Portland. After that, she moved in Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS TV. It was during her association with this channel for six years that she received two Emmy Awards.
